I'm writing this from a cozy little non-Starbucks coffee shop in what will be
my new neighborhood. I move in on Saturday and am bunking at an EconoLodge until then. Dude, I can't believe I live here. My cousin did a fantastic job with the recommendation. This neighborhood looks to be very, very walkable and unbelievably scenic. It's right on Puget Sound! Incredible. The apartment is smaller than my Dayton one but not my much, and it costs an arm an a leg, but it's about what I was expecting. It has a large balcony with the most amazing view ever. I'll put all my plants out there and maybe they'll have a chance at survival. Everybody keeps saying "wow, chilly day, isn't it?" and I'm all like "yeah!" but I don't know what they're talking about. It is December and I'm only wearing a fleece jacket.
Between now and Saturday, I want to figure out the bus system and do some touristy stuff. Hopefully I will only have to drive if I need to go the the airport or somewhere else on the interstate. The streets are all really narrow and curvy and confusing.
Now I'll back up and describe the journey out here.
