Friday
The kids were extraordinarily well behaved today.
The girls napped when told without being gated in. Tristan, while at first shrieking his lung out in protest of a nap, succumbed to falling asleep and drooling all over my chest. They ate their meals with almost no mess and put their dishes in the sink. All in all a perfect time.
We had dinner at Wendy’s and then went swimming. Once again Rowena surprised me by spending 90 percent of her time in the deeper water where her feet couldn’t touch bottom. She also surprised me by sneaking up behind me while I was having a face to face laugh with Tristan and proceeded to dump a bucket of water over my head. Tristan thought it was hilarious so we all laughed. After swimming we caught the Ferry accross the harbour then a bus to home where we had a snack then it was bedtime for everyone and Daddy had time to type this up.
The kids lunches are half prepared. Beef pot pies to be served with Alfredo Kraft Dinner. I picked up a new flavour of PC Soda, passion fruit, I’ll be cutting with orange juice for the kiddies to enjoy with lunch. I still have to do laundry, but I figure I’ll do that, with the kids clothes, in the morning.
Right now there is a peace through my house. My children are well fed, bathed and asleep, except Tristan who is lolling in his bed with a bottle half hanging out of his mouth like some one year old wino. There was no politics, no rumour mongers, no angry people trying to link their discontent to what is happening in my life. I had a peaceful day with my family.
Saturday
Tristan woke up upset at 6 am and would not settle down till he was comfortable in his apparent new spot. The middle of my chest where he promptly fell asleep and proceeded to drool on me. Truth be told though... I didn`t want to, he could have slept there all night if I thought he would have been safe, but I was on a couch so....
We all slept in till 8:30 then had a big breakfast of apple streusel mini wheats. Then it was off to the corner store to correct an error on my part. The laundry room in my building takes Loonies AND quarters not jsut quarters so I had to buy some dollar coins. Got my laundry done and the kids cothes laundered to save their mom some work. We had fun playing with blocks and iggle piggle for a couple hours then had lunch. Beef pot pies, Alfredo Kraft Dinner, and Passion Fruit Soda (new PC flavour) mixed with orange juice. Then all had a nap and Daddy had some time to sort and repack the kids stuff for the trip home. Once everyone woke up we were off to the waterfront t have a look around.
Most mportantly... Rhiannon asked to go potty and did MORE than just tinkle! She got a couple Twerpz candies for that. Even Rowena clapped for her.
At 5:30 it was onto a bus and off to KitKat for a slice then meet up with the access facilitator to return the kids to Mommy. Rhiannon and ROwena both said several times today that they were happy. It makes my heart lighter to hear them say that. The heavyness returns later but for a few minutes it is lifted. That alone is a treasure beyond value.
