Work
So Stacia (Assistant Director of the Bureau of Sociological Research, where I work) gave me my first project to take care of today. It's something small, a transcription project, like 40 hours worth of work, but it's all mine to take care of! I am going to be figuring out how it's gonna get done, be in touch with the client, assign it to people to get done, make sure it's getting done, etc. etc. As nerdy as it sounds, I'm excited! I'm like, officially a Project Manager now, or something. Yeah. Pretty fking awesome.
Just had to put it down somewhere.
In other news, today had all the makings of a 'bad day' by most people's standards but I actually just think it's funny. Days like this keep life interesting. I got probably about 2-3 hours of sleep last night (thx to this girl, but I wouldn't change a thing). Then it was raining when I got up, and I got ready to go and headed out the door, and in trying to decide whether to ride my bike or drive to work, I decided it wasn't raining RIGHT THEN (drizzling a little maybe), and it's been so hot lately that with a nice cool morning, I was gonna ride, rain be damned. Three blocks from my house it starts POOOOOURING. Big fat heavy drops coming down. So I'm soaked to the bone. I also still feel a little drunk from last night at the time. Good way to show up to work... running on 3 hours of sleep, somewhat inebriated, and soaking wet.
Anyway.... the day is shaping up pretty awesome. Now I just have to figure out how to sate the burning desire to go to HuHot that I've had lately. None of my friends actually seem to like the place as much as I do. I think it's not only delicious, but fun! Anyone wanna go? ANYONE?!
