Virgil Bratton, Roland Chase, and Dorian Raspert are best friends, living together. Dorian, however, is a vampire. Nadine Pullman is the one who changed him, and she's been after Virgil for years, ever since he was her sister's pet. Her sister Natasha had turned Virgil, but Nadine had killed her, changing him back to normal, and he ended up getting away. Now she's pretty much stalking Virgil.
So then Virgil and Roland read in the newspaper, about a girl, Raellyn Pritchard, who gets sent to the psych ward for claiming to hunt vampires -- the story says she murdered her sister, and claimed a vampire did it. Roland and Virgil bust her out of the psych ward to help them with Nadine.
Long story short, Virgil and Raellyn become close, Roland and Dorian become close (zomg slash), and they end up killing Nadine. But Dorian doesn't change back -- and one of Nadine's friends/accomplices, zelos Owens, gets away. Turns out he was the one bite Dorian.
The first part of this story ends with them leaving to start a search for Zelos -- as of yet, there is no second part.
