I spent the better part of last week in Hawai'i. I didn't mention it sooner, because whether or not I would actually be able to go was decided rather last-minute, but it worked out wonderfully. :) I spent lots of good time chilling with Matt, his family, and playing on the beach.
The only strange part (aside from hanging out with small children every day) was that, with nothing actually planned, I had a lot of time to myself... to do absolutely nothing. I had nowhere I needed to be, nothing I needed to do, and I discovered that, altho' I dearly love escaping the city on occasion, I am simply bad at relaxing. I have no talent for it, because, apparently, my brain is constantly on the run, and I have to stay on the run to keep up with it. But spending a week or so out of the year not existing in a stress-filled environment is probably good for me. :)
So as lovely as it was, it's equally as lovely to be back and return to non-surreal life. Work is going much better. Ren Faire ended happily - much money was made as well as excellent time spent chilling with Matt and Morgan and a few of Morgan's lovely friends. Hot Topic is also calming down, because they're scheduling me on days that I can actually work. :) It's easier for my manager that way too, since now she doesn't have to cringe every time I ask her a question. :) I'm considering staying there thru school this year, but we'll see...
School should be interesting as well. I'm slightly apprehensive - just because it's senior year, and I haven't done nearly as much prep work as I was hoping to over the summer. But I think it'll be happy. I re-arranged my schedule a little, which means I'll be waking up earlier most days (if not every day), but it also means that I'll waste less time, I'll have one more afternoon mostly free, and one more class with Matt... who I'm sure I'll only see in class, in the studio, or in bed, since we'll both be so damn busy. I'm glad I live with him, and I'm glad I live with Megan, because they are my favourite people, and if I ddin't see them at home, I don't know if I ever would. Sigh...
And the back to school countdown commences: 11 days left.*
