Final furlough day.
Was appropriately spent in the water. Just went to the big pond down the road. But i caught 3 fish! And saw so many birds in the water and all their kids! Duck babies, larger geese kids. So fun. I think i caught one blue gill and two small mouth bass. But I'll need to look them up.
And
They were all pretty little. But i know big ones are in there.
It was fun to have some success. One of the flies i used was particularly lucky! I need to get a few more of those. It even got snagged on something but i was able to free it! And retrieve it from two fish mouths. Lucky!
Back to work on Monday. I had a good week, and tried hard not to thing about how small my check will be week after next. It is what it is.
This guy sat and watched me for an our. Or he was just hanging out. I was casting in that direction so i got to watch him do his morning preening.
This was the very same pond Carole and i went to when there were NO birds. Today it was hopping! Next time Carole!
