Fish On! gordongirls July 14 2019, 04:59:16 UTC
What a cute little bluegill! All I've ever caught on a fly was vegetation. Cool osprey - I've never seen one actually fishing. I want to go to that pond.

I'm so glad you got to go fishing and I think doing so after only 6 weeks in Bend is super, especially considering how busy you have been with working, mowing. unpacking, etc., etc.

You could do it. Bring a camera and a pole. That way you'd be sure to catch something! Lol. I spent more time watching nature than my fly. There were families of ducks, geese, some sort of otter too! People were very interested in him, but no one knew for sure what he was. We needed you!

The otter would be a river otter, supposedly they are common in Central Oregon.

I love fishing. Fly fishing is an art. So cool that you do it.

I won't probably bait fish again (unless it's on the ocean or some other place where fly casting won't work). The thrill of actually SEEING a fish hit the fly, then eventually take it is what does it for me. Also, now with 2.5 readers I can actually SEE to tie the fly on. Yeah, I was worried about that. The last time I fished I was already not very able to thread the fly.
I've been fly fishing since collage. But it's been years and years since I've done it. I think my last license was in 2008. There's tons of places to go around here, so hopefully it will become a habit. :)

I am so glad you got out there! I am not into fishing but bird watching would be fun, with the otter bonus!

So
Many
🐦 s!!!

I saw red wing black bird, the osprey, geese in a color pattern I didn't recognize (and they were huge!), Lots of ducks and some smaller diving water birds. It's a really cute pond.
