With only a few hours of emersion into the life of Pixel, Pry Shep extraordinaire, Tammy and I are in complete agreement that our next dog with be:
SMALLER!!
Lol!! But honestly. Knowing us both and our dependence on being comfortable with the breeds we choose, one would make the very likely assumption that the next dog in our family would either be an Aussie or a BC. We’ve both done both! To varying successes, and that’s where our comfort zones lie.
But after having Pixel in the house last night, then having her sleep in my room, get UP with us at o’dark:30 and generally just having her around, I am SO ready for a smaller dog.
She was bouncy and gregarious and sweet and NOT A BIT SNUGGLY (which is perfect for a 6+ month old dog - not really sure of the age) and bold, but also timid all in turns. It was AWESOME and really cute. And I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED how she figured Rumble out and got him to play with her
Sorry for the horrible pictures with blurs and bad lighting and such, but phone cameras HATE the dark… and it was O’dark:30 after all.
Rumble figured out pretty quickly that his “forward” approach wasn’t working. He gave her a lot of space, but she initially didn’t recognize his overtures at friendship.
It all got sorted this morning at 4 a.m. tho when I remembered that Pixel is a BIG fan of tugging on things and I made them a tuggy sock. BINGO! Best buddies.
This video is PRE-Sock, and when I decided we weren't getting an sleep if we were sleeping loose. She really wanted to party with the Rumble. And Razor wanted to complain about it.
