Hello fishlings. It's been a while. This summer has been one full of travel. I'm pretty darn tired of airplanes, but I know I'm extremely blessed for getting the opportunity to travel in them. Nicaragua is a very poor country... I visited there for 24 days... It was crazy to see how different things are. Many things are the same... they have cars, phones (cellphones too) and computers, but these are all new things. There aren't any speed limits. Drivers are insane. Telephoners are careless and dial wrong numbers constantly. Cellphone owners can't afford to buy more minutes so they usually can't use their phones. Showers there are cold. The average house cooks over a sort of wooden stove.. not really a stove.. more just like an open flame. It's pretty unsanitary and unhealthy, but they can't afford ovens. However, many people own parrots and iguanas, which are more costly in the states. Mickey, the lady I stayed with, always made me call our country the United States and not "America." "America," she reasoned is a very vague term. Which America? North, Central, or South? It's funny to think of Canadians as Americans. Hrm...
A week after Nicaragua I went to Ohio for the Youth Advance. I was actually a leader this year. It was awesome! Lots of miracles happened... I saw Mike Shannon's knee healed right before my eyes. Pretty awesome.
I have now been home for exactly one week. In 6 days I shall be leaving again with my sister for Virginia. She's thinking seriously about moving up there to go to law school. Mat Staver of Liberty Counsel (the place both of us have volunteered at) called her cellphone and said it'd be cool if she came and offered her a job up there. (She tried to call him back, but he was meeting with the President...yeah...Mat is cool.) So yeah. Hannah and I are going up to Virginia to check out the campus and chill. After that, we're driving down to NC to hang with my Grandmere and meet up with my parents and Jon. From there, Hannah is going back to FL and the 4 of us fishes are going up to Ohio for the Christian Family Fellowship reunion. ROAD TRIPS. And now I can drive =p. Joy.
I hope all goes well. I'm pretty darn sleepy now. Goodnight ya'll!
