Author: noscrubs12345
Word Count: 426

Summary: A quiet Easter morning in the Harkness-Jones household.
Warnings: slash, mpreg
Disclaimer: This story is based on characters and situations created and owned by Russell T Davies and the BBC. No copyright or trademark infringement is intended and no money is being made.
Notes: This was originally supposed to be for
drabble_life's "Easter egg" challenge, but push came to shove and this piece refused to be condensed to a drabble. This is also where I should insert the obligatory bad "if I had a TARDIS, this would have been posted on time" pun, but I digress. I also have not written mpreg in any fandom in five plus years, should that need to serve as a warning, and this piece is unbeta'd. Please point out any mistakes you may find.

Jack leans in the doorway, one hand resting on his gently sloping stomach, and watches with a smile as Ianto shows Briallen how to dye eggs for Easter. The girl stands, enthralled, on the chair she’s dragged over from the table and studies the egg as Ianto lowers it into the dye.

He hands her a paper towel and asks if she’s ready as he carefully takes the bright blue egg from the dye. She nods, her curls dancing, and places it in her small hands. Jack crosses the room as she dabs softly at it and wraps an arm around Ianto’s waist.

“What you think, Daddy?” Briallen asks and holds the bright blue egg up for Jack to see.

He chuckles and tucks a strand of hair behind her ear. “It’s beautiful. Just like you.”

Briallen grins and hops down from her chair. Looking between Jack and Ianto with hopeful blue eyes, she asks, “Will you look for them if I hide them?”

Ianto grins and hands her a bright pink Easter basket from its place on the counter. “Of course. You go on and Daddy and I’ll be there in a minute.”

Briallen hugs their legs with a shouted mantra of “thank you” before she hurries from the kitchen, carefully holding the basket so the eggs don’t spill.

“We’re spoiling her,” Jack says, pulling Ianto close.

“Guess we’ll just have to try harder not to with the next one,” the Welshman says, a hand rubbing tender circles on Jack’s stomach.

Jack chuckles and kisses Ianto, Briallen’s frantic shufflings floating in from the front room. “I think that’ll be a losing battle.”

Ianto raises an eyebrow and concedes, “You’re probably right. Still, it’s half the fun though.”

“That it is,” Jack says and strokes Ianto’s cheek before he closes the distance between them once more.

Ianto breaks the kiss with a smile as an impish giggle comes from the doorway. “Ready, Briallen?”

“Yes,” the girl says, and looks up at Jack, her lower lip stuck out in a pout. “Daddy?”
“What, sweetheart?”

“No cheating,” Briallen says with a grin at Ianto and darts out of the small kitchen again. “C’mon!”

Jack just stares up at Ianto, his lips curling into a half smile as the man tries to cover a laugh with a cough. “Did you tell her to say that?”

“I may have mentioned it.”

Jack laughs and takes Ianto’s hand again. “We should probably go see what she’s up too.”

“That we should,” Ianto says, and squeezes Jack’s hand with a contented sigh before leading him from the kitchen.
