Very short stories

So... Hudlin is leaving Black Panther. Without going in to the issue of whether his run was any good or not, or what Black Panther should be, they just renumbered and relaunched the book with a new volume. 6 issues in, they're taking the writer off it.

I'm not entirely sure that that makes a lot of storytelling sense. Why let somebody put together and launch a new premise but get somebody else to see it through? Marvel clearly had some amount of faith in it to give it a renumbering. Why change things around before it even finishes its first big arc?

What other creators have had really short runs (not counting fill in runs)? Does Chuck Dixon Bruce Jones on Checkmate count, or was he just a fill-in?
