Captain America/Steve Rogers vs. Batman/Bruce Wayne! Who Wins?
Poll Cap Vs. Bat.Greetings True Believers! Sorry I'm a little late with this week's fight. (Damn you real life!) But this will be a fun one. The Caped Crusader vs. The Living Legend of World War II! Shield vs. Utility Belt! Super-Soldier Serum vs. A World-spanning Training Quest. Patriotism vs. Vigilantism. Dark Knight vs. The Sentinel of Liberty. "MY PARENTS ARE DEAD!" vs. "BUUUCCCKKKYYYY!" Both characters have a lot in common but also have very stark differences. So in a knock-down, drag-out, one-on-one brawl; who wins? Vote in the poll! Read my more detailed prompts and discuss! Ok, first off, environment. I think Cap has the advantage in an open, unobstructed place like a grassy field or desert road. While Batman has the advantage in a darkened place like an alley or rooftop at midnight. So the set-up is that Cap and Batman face-off on a deserted city street at high noon. A place Bats is familiar with and fits his fighting style and Cap has his own advantage here.
Second: The reality of the combat. These two are very closely matched. Both are top-tier human fighters and considered among the (if not the) best human combatants in their own universes. Both have decades of experience fighting the best in world. Both are champion martial artists. Both have decades of experience fighting everything from muggers to alien gods. The Super-Soldier Serum has made Cap human perfection while his lifetime of training has made Bruce a close second. Batman has the edge in number of techniques and knowledge of styles but Cap's edge in power, speed, and stamina make up for it. Or do they? Batman often uses mental exercises to push past pain and exhaustion. But then again, the SSS eliminates fatigue poisons in Cap and he is tough put down. Who is the superior fighter?
Third: Equipment. Batman has the most obivous advantage with his utility belt. He has weapons and tools for virtually every situation. Does he have something that Cap hasn't seen before or doesn't have a defense against? Cap has only one weapon. His indestructible shield. It has offensive and defensive capablities and Cap is an master with it. Can it withstand the barrage of weapons from the Dark Knight? Batman wears kelvar while Cap wears chainmail. Both wear similiar body-costumes.
Fourth: The mind. Batman is a natural human genius while Cap's reactions and thoughts have been sharpened to razor's edge by the SSS. I would bet on Batman having the higher IQ. Both are master tacticians and battle planners. The difference between them being Cap is field leader while Batman is planner prefers that the likes of Superman and Wonder Woman lead in the field. Both have vast experiences organizing team of heroes and training new heroes. Cap has more of a military approach while I think Batman works on a more guerilla like level. I think Cap would favor more straight forward battle while Batman would have a more sneaky way of doing things.
Finally. Both are tough! Mentally and physically. This won't be a "one-punch" battle. This is a Rocky-style all 15 rounds, dead on their feet battle. So, who wins?? I have probably forgotten a lot of points, so add your own view!
