As some of you may (unfortunately) recall, I'm
plotting a Western AU. Called "due West". And it takes place in 1872, and Ray is a gunslinger, and Fraser is a Constable in the newly-formed North-West Mounted Police.
Because we are party animals,
meresy and I spent part of the evening debating the merits of period-appropriate facial hair. Should Fraser have a Sam Steele handlebar mustache? we queried.
Remember, all the cool 19th-century Mounties had 'em! I argued that yeah, Fraser would probably have a 'stache, and Meres thought facial hair would look horrendous on him. I needed a visual aide of some kind to confirm Meres' thesis, and tapped the lovely and talented
mrs_laugh_track to produce one.
So here we go.
Benton Fraser, Cowboy'd Up:
Also, the Passchendaele screening was packed, and most of the audience members were either young kids or older people. I don't think I've seen a movie recently that had that many older folks in the theatre. Anyway, the film was just as good the second time around (I got weepy this time!) and now Meres and I are talking about corn and why celery is the most disgusting vegetable since Brussels sprouts. I say again: Party. Animals.
