A couple of things...

arrow00 has written a lovely and haunting F/K story called A Question of Ghosts. It's gooooood stuff: creepy and more than a bit haunting at the beginning, and then gradually the tone shifts and lightens and the story concludes with a lovely, glowy kind of happiness. I highly recommend it, even if it is *cough* deathfic *cough*. But it's the good/happy/ ( Read more... )

fic recs, fannish content, arrow00 routinely breaks my heart

Yay! I'm glad you liked it - arrow00 worked really hard on it, and I think it turned out beautifully.

Sorry, but there's no such thing as a happy, glowy deathfic, IMO.

I can't read deathfic of any kind. I want my guys alive and kicking, not glowy and still dead.

Hee! Well, okay, that's true. Perhaps my perspective on deathfic is a bit skewed. :-) Still, I've read a couple, like Spuffy's After, that are suffused with love and warmth. I'm not sure deathfic is inherently heart-breaking, particularly in the world of due South and magical realism.

1) But it's the good/happy/sexy kind of deathfic, I promise!

I will agree with you that it's damn good. Brilliant, in fact. Although, that's pretty much par for the course with Arrow's fic.

But don't mislead people here. Those of us who posted feedback for Arrow last night were crying, Nos. Crying really quite a lot. I rate it five hankies out of five.

2) Use cut and paste, Nos. C'mon, you grew up with computers; I shouldn't have to tell you this. Save the typing fingers for Rentboy!Fraser!!! *nudges you*

Bah, crying? It has such a happy ending! Clearly you all need to watch more Canadian films. :-)

I know, I know. Key commands are my friends. Still, so often it's just easier to type the whole thing out.

JS, you may nudge me about Rentboy!Fraser to your heart's content in Washington *G*

Sheesh. Do they come with free Prozac? I'm very sensitive, Nos. You know this!

Dear Mr. David Adams Richards,

My friends and I think it would be easier on our carpal tunnel syndrome and also assist in the noble pursuit of getting Jerry Bines laid in a slashy way if you would please use shorter titles for your books. We would humbly suggest something along the lines of "Cold Heat," "Winter Thaw," or "Hunting Camp Love."

Thank you kindly,

Nos and... Sli ran away. Damn it, Sli!

ILU a whole lot. And I think Richards would read over our petition, nod thoughtfully, and begin a draft of "Hunting Camp Love" immediately.

C'mon. It's a much better title than, "The Bay of Love and Sorrows" or "Mercy Among the Children." "Hunting Camp Love" will sell a million copies!
