Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Except Not Trains.

I bought my plane tickets for the muskratjamboree! shoemaster was there through the whole process, so she can attest as to what a frustrating experience it was. I bought from Air Canada and to fly out of Hamilton I have to go to Montreal first, and then down to Boston. WHY? If I hopped on a GO bus and went to Toronto I could fly direct to Beantown for the same price, but ( Read more... )

Yay MJ!

Boo, mean lying Jetsons. Not just the robot housekeepers, but the flying cars! No need to go to Montreal if you're a Jetson.

You're right! I'm fairly certain that no one would go to Montreal if we all had flying cars.

Hee! Great little scene from the urban land of urban things. It reminds me of my favourite scene from "Fargo" where two guys are standing in the driveway talking and you never see their faces, just their parka tubes in profile ( ... )

That is a scary, scary story. Especially with the disembodied hand wagging at you through the facehole *shudder* And I will definitely say 'hi' to china_shop and blame any resulting social awkwardness on you.

The Bauhaus is indeed still up and running, but I've never been. A few of my much cooler friends love it, though, so I think scarfe and I will have to make a night of it sometime and check the place out. They also have live music, right?

Oh, the B&T! It's great! And cheap! And there's curry! I love that place. It suddenly strikes me that there are very few places Back Home that I really liked, in terms of food and entertainment. I suppose that's the byproduct of competiton from chain resturants and big-box retailers. Aaaand I just made myself sad.

You know, I have no idea about the distance from Hamilton to Kingston. Southern Ontario geography is baffling to me. But thankfully, mapquest! Which tells me it's about 3hrs northeast of here. You'd have to follow the highway down around Lake Ontario to get to Hamilton from Kingston, if that helps orient you at all.

And apparently Detroit is north of Windsor. What the hell is that?

Dude you didn't know that? The Journey song "Don't Stop Believing" has the line "Growing up in south Detroit" and we laugh because there IS no south Detroit. It's Windsor. I've seen the bridge and everything.

note: I didn't know that til I became friends with someone from the suburbs of Detroit. She lives NORTH of the city.

I am so glad that you cite Journey when a geography question comes up. You are awesome!
