I an idea early this morning about writing meta on the significance of uniforms/articles of clothing in dS. I know someone has already posted about the Magic Stetson and how Fraser never gets injured whilst wearing it, and I'm fairly certain there's been commentary about the uniform switcheroo that occurs several times throughout the series (both Rays wear the red serge at some point, right?) I was wondering about Fraser's plaid scarf in CotW. Dief wears it at one point because they needed some way to get the message out about the nuclear sub, but wasn't Fraser wearing it beforehand (during the falling-into-the-duvet/mountain-climbing odyssey)? So how did Dief get that scarf? Or is it simply that Fraser and his wolf each have the same scarf? The idea of matching scarves is, well, cute. And a little odd. Because now I'm imagining Fraser and Dief clothes-shopping together. Dief would probably want to check out a high-end store and Fraser would insist on the Salvation Army or something.
Anyway. I'm just curious because in the last shot of the series, Ray is back to his customary leather jacket (over snowpants, which is a great look) but Fraser is still wearing the clothing from their adventure, plaid scarf, weather-inappropriate jacket and all. (That thing would leak body heat like a seeve - it's way too loose!) So, fangirls, help me out on this one. What's going on with that scarf?
