Yeah, I don't know when my feelings toward Zod flipped--I never thought he was a great villain, but I was generally ok with the Kandor storyline for a while, but lately he really does seem very lame to me.
Well, not really, but since most of what I really want from Ollie is shirtless angst with an occasional bit of heroism thrown in, we got that in spades.
You had me at shirtless. *grins* It's so nice that Oliver's chest is back from hiatus.
I've been trying to figure out why the Zod story line isn't thrilling me and I really do think it's because I don't perceive him as much of a threat. We should have been creeped out by him visiting Lois. We should have been fearing what he might do to her or at least fearing what he was planning to do with her. At least when Lionel was menacing someone you knew he had plans within plans within plans. But with Zod, I didn't get that feeling at all.
Seriously, every time I see his chest I think it must have a separate contract. Not that I'm complaining! :-)
I agree with you about the menacing factor. I mean, I agree, we were supposed to be creeped out when he visited Lois, but not only did she verbally get the best of him (which one should expect from Lois), but really I felt like she could take him with her arm broken, which is not, I think what we were supposed to get from that scene.
I don't really know why I've suddenly become so anti-Zod, and I suspect you're right, it has to do with the lack of movement in the storyline. Or my general frustration with it, or something. Your review of Pandora convinced me that Clark giving him a chance was a good thing, so I *should* be interested in their relationship, and the fact that Zod is of course continuing with his agenda behind Clark's back and pressuring Clark in any way he can to help the Kandorians get their powers should interest me. Maybe it really is that I no longer find Callum Blue authentically scary anymore?
And that they're still themselves, with the snark and teasing and pig-tail pulling. I was worried that would get lost in the shuffle of them officially Being In Love with each other, and I'm glad to see the creative team hasn't made that mistake.
I LOVE the pigtail pulling--it's really my favorite part of their interactions. I have to agree with what you said in your Pandora review: FAVORITE VERSION OF CLOIS EVER.
The keeping track of the PDA thing was adorable and also strangely relatable, since I tend to have found myself doing the same on several occasions, heh.
I think the Chlark conversation was way overdue. At least they're communicating.
I used to be rather neutral on Callum Blue's acting, but lately I am finding it quite unconvincing. (Though to be fair, some of it is the writing as well).
