I have just returned from the showing of Invisible Children and now i feel... i do not know what... throughout the movie i felt for the children hated the rebels and learned about thier lives in the war time and then something hit me something that the movie made small but is the biggest atrocity:
Seventeen years and we worry about tests.
Seventeen years we have slept in the west.
Seventeen years have past and what has been done.
Seventeen years have children held guns.
Seventeen years and we are in Iraq.
Seventeen years the children must walk.
Seventeen years we didn't even try.
Seventeen years and children still die.
This war in Uganda has been going on for seventeen years and what has the war done. What have we as individuals done. How can we worry about tests and sports and plays when there are 8 yearolds out there worrying about being kidnapped and forced to go into the 130 degree desertlike bush and be tought to kill or die. How can we fight in Iraq when these children suffer so.
