Does anyone else use Rogers internet?
Can you tell me why even though I have opened ports on my router I can't connect to any of my public torrent trackers? I currently have a caution while using utorrent that I am having network troubles even though I have made sure I have opened my port properly. The utorrent port checker is telling me that the port is not opened though. For a few weeks now I have been unable to connect to any trackers. I always get port closed by peer or target machine actively refused connection error messages. When I try to download anything it takes days when it may have only taken hours before I seem to be completely reliant on DHT to receive anything. If I use a private tracker I am registered with I don't seem to get the same problems. Any help? I am considering it may be utorrent and I may have to switch torrent programs. I am pretty frustrated by it all.
EDIT: I have been looking into this all day and it turns out from reading message boards that a LOT of people in St John's have seen a very big drop in download speeds using Rogers in the last month. This week I am checking into Aliant and I think if anyone else downloads like me, which is maybe 2 gigs a week, it might be a good idea to switch to Aliant.
