Donner, Party of Ten! (AKA I'm Still Alive)

Aug 26, 2005 21:45

Yup, still doing my thing. I'm in Germany now. Thanks to the people who have sent me postcards from near and far :) There will be responses in kind, as always -- fear not. My internet access has been subpar -- up until yesterday I couldn't access anything through the language center during the day, and here in the house the family pays for internet access by the minute (even though it's not dial-up ... apparently this is standard procedure in Germany) so I feel guilty about spending too much time online. I do read all my email within a day or two of receiving it, though!

I was browsing through some recent friends' entries and simply had to do this test, courtesy of mellanella. The results were more or less as I expected :)
Pure Nerd
95 % Nerd, 34% Geek, 34% Dork

For The Record: A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia. A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one. A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions. You scored better than half in Nerd, earning you the title of: Pure Nerd.
The times, they are a-changing. It used to be that being exceptionally smart led to being unpopular, which would ultimately lead to picking up all of the traits and tendences associated with the "dork." No-longer. Being smart isn't as socially crippling as it once was, and even more so as you get older: eventually being a Pure Nerd will likely be replaced with the following label: Purely Successful. Congratulations!

This test tracked 3 variables.
How you compared to other people your age and gender:

You scored higher than 99% on nerdiness

You scored higher than 42% on geekosity

You scored higher than 54% on dorkitude
