The first TEN people to comment in this post get to request a drabble of any pairing/character of their choosing from me. In return, they have to post this in their journal, regardless of their ability level.

um uh. I can do YGO GX, 5D's, and I'll attempt Zexal if you want. I don't think I can remember much of DM to try that successfully. I can ( Read more... )

Bolger finds himself vaguely annoyed with every new addition that Pearson brings into the warehouse that they call home. It seems like he's splitting too much of his time and effort around to too many people (although he doesn't dare tell Pearson that). The newest one, Crow isn't much of an exception. Much.

Crow isn't that young, for one thing, he's certainly old enough to be faring for himself-and apparently has for some time now, so any reason that Pearson's got him under his wing has to be some sort of extenuating circumstance. It's hearing what the kid (wait, not a kid) blubbers out to Pearson one night that puts it all in perspective: his trust's been betrayed by someone he cared for a lot.

The reason strikes Bolger as a surprisingly innocent one considering how long the kid's been on his own, and part of him sympathizes. He'd had to learn the hard way too, had plenty of hardship. Perhaps it wouldn't hurt too much to reach out a little, give the kid a proper outlook now that he'd been exposed to the pain of the real world.

He muddles around for a few days before, by a spot of luck, finds the kid sulking outside as he's about to light up a smoke. He notices the kid wrinkle up his nose in disgust as the cigarette is lit and the scent reaches him and Bolger just shrugs (ah, well, can't teach 'em everything") in lieu of a greeting. It's silent for a bit before he talks, not facing the squirt directly and just facing forward as he leans against the wall.

"You know," and this is a casual sort of drawl, hiding the painful effort this is taking to force open the rusted lid of his heart, "this sort of thing is pretty common. Not just here in Satellte, the whole world is full of people just waiting to screw you over. No matter what, someday everyone's gonna hurt ya at some point. It's best just to not bother trusting."

He gives a glance over to the side, curious about a reaction, and spots screwed up eyes, narrowing. Maybe the cigarette smoke was too strong? Perhaps he should just put it out...

His musing is cut short by a sharp pain near his ankle and it takes him a moment to realize-the little upstart just kicked him! He hisses, and the cigarette falls from his mouth as he lifts up his leg to hold it, his lax, neutral expression replaced with a snarl of anger.

"You...you dummy!" A surprisingly childish insult coming from the teen, but then again, Pearson had a stringent "no cursing" rule around the warehouse considering the innocents around. Bolger didn't even bother looking round as he heard Crow's footsteps run around him and back into the house, probably to go snivel in a corner some more or something.

Tch. Well, that was what he got for trying to reach out. He should really listen to his own philosophy more and just keep to himself like he always did. Less painful that way, he thought, as he shook his aching leg experimentally before letting it touch the ground and acting as if nothing had just happened.

Bawwwwwwwwwwwwww. BOYS. God but they should have made peace properly (as opposed to Crow just being a self-righteous dick when really the shit he pulled was terribly problematic) I hate Show for ignoring everything about Crow that didn't involve Pet Orphans. There needs to be hugs.
