Normally he doesn't have these problems. The past is past; he only dwells on it when he's alone. He gets by from day to day like anyone else, being like anyone else -- he's built up so many personae over time that it's easy by now.

Except when the stupid Nexus breaks down his nice tidy compartments. The past is past, except that it's Rachel one minute and Sagramore the next and Melehan and he needs to not think about this, he needs a good stiff drink before he starts down that spiral.
