Yuletide Letter!

Dear Lovely Yuletide Writer,

Thank you so much for offering to write one of my fandoms! I’m quite excited.

Before I talk about my specific fandom requests, I have a general thing that applies to all of them that I should mention. I’m not comfortable reading things rated higher than light R. (Using the Archive of our Own rating system, Mature, but not explicit) Smut is definitely not in my comfort zone. I’m okay with stories containing sex, usually, but I’d rather not read the details about it. I’m much happier if it’s more along the lines of the “fade to black” variety.

Ok, now on to the good stuff!

The Remains of the Day

I’m extremely fond of this story, in both of it’s versions: Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel and the movie adaptation by Merchant Ivory. I think I’d be happy with anything, really, in this universe. I know that’s not very helpful for fic ideas, though. So possible ideas: Tom Benn and Sarah Kenton used to work in the same house, perhaps a fic that touches on that or explores that further; or something where Lord Darlington inadvertently comes between Stevens’ and Miss Kenton’s developing friendship/(not-quite)romance. I never get tired of exploring Mr. Stevens and Miss Kenton/Mrs. Benn’s complicated relationship, as colleagues, friends, and their not-quite romance, so a Stevens and Kenton centered fic would also be quite welcome.

Victor/Victoria

I really love Toddy and Victoria’s friendship. I’d love a buddy story about the two of them. During the movie, post-movie, whenever.

Last Chance Harvey

As far as I know, there have been about four stories total written in this fandom, so I’m pretty open to whatever idea strikes your fancy. Some possible ideas: a conversation, or series of conversations between Kate and her mom, where we actually get to hear both sides of the conversation; more pre-movie back-story for Kate; Kate and/or her mom becoming friends with the Polish neighbor.

Thank you again!
