Dear Lovely Yuletide Author,
First of all, I’m sorry that I didn’t get this up before assignments went out. I hope you find your way to it anyway, unless you don't like optional details, in which case, ignore away!
Thank you so much for offering one of the fandoms I requested! I’m really looking forward to reading your story!
A couple of general notes before I dive into the specifics:
Three of my four requests include a romantic pairing or the possibility of a romantic pairing. I’m a fade-to-black kind of gal in the intimacy department for romance.
As to genre, I’m pretty flexible. Humor, angst, UST, horribly depressing things, etc. I am a particular fan of UST, things that make me think, and humor, if that helps.
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2011)
I’m quite fond of Evelyn and Douglas’ friendship, adventuring, and later, their burgeoning romance. I’m interested in what Evelyn’s son thought of the whole thing, and how much he knew about it. Perhaps Evelyn and Douglas go back to England to visit her son, or perhaps she manages to convince him to come out to India to visit them, or maybe it’s just all over the phone/email/blog.
Sense and Sensibility - Jane Austen
Elinor Dashwood and Colonel Brandon’s relationship is of great interest to me. On the one hand, I really enjoy that it is platonic male-female friendship, and I think they had many interesting conversations over the course of their acquaintance. So them having friendly chats about things, or visits, would make me very happy. On the other hand, and I feel kind of bad about this, I go through periods where they are my secret ship. So I would also be happy with a romance, if that is something that interests you.
Quartet (2012)
I’d love something about the four of them having shenanigans, and beyond that, let your imagination go wild. Bonus points if you can work some Gilbert and Sullivan in.
Stranger Than Fiction (2006)
If you’re looking for an idea for these two characters, here’s something:
Sometime post-movie, Professor Hilbert asks Karen Eiffel if she’d be willing to be a guest speaker in one of his classes.
Thank you again, mystery yuletide author! I wish you the best of luck, and look forward with great anticipation to reading your story on December 25.
Warm regards,
Emiline
