If I were alone: I'd freak at first, naturally. Then I'd get a hold of myself and get to know my surroundings better. I'd look for any intelligent life, water and food source, build myself a shelter maybe. Like they do in movies, I'd make a big bonfire and do my best to keep it lit in case of any airplane or ship going by. I guess I'd sort of enjoy my alone time, work on my tan (lol), and survive. Hopefully there'd be a volleyball named Wilson to keep me company as well.
If I were with a group of other strandees: I'd be thankful for the company. I'd keep a low profile though, so as to not get caught up in all the drama of who's the leader. I'd do my best to keep everyone from going insane, help out as much as I can. I'd put my companions at ease with some of my good humor (lol) I'd basically do what I needed to do to survive and to help others around me survive as well.
We'd probably all hope and pray that help is on the way, but that's never guaranteed. I guess the best way to get by being stranded is to just live as normally as possible.
