That's okay, I'm leaving you too

It seems like everyone I know that lives around where I do right now is leaving for the month of July. Er, AL, g, eg ... For various things. I am somewhat bothered but at the same time ... It looks to be a busy month. I finally decided that I would take ESL Part I at UO and that's for that whole month ... Monday-Friday 8am to noon on campus. Yup. That and work on top of that. I have also, in the meantime (somewhat out of frustration for what seems to be the prospects in the fall and somewhat out of I want to do this), reapplied to go to South Korea to teach English (which is where the ESL course also fits). Since I already had the initial interview with Footprints a while ago and passed with flying colours I just need to wait for my interview with EPIK. If all goes well I will be there August 19.

I also might have an interview with another native community - a reserve north of Cochrane by James Bay. I am not counting on it though. Basically the principal sent me a reply email asking for three references and if we are doing another round of interviews in O- I will contact you. Right. Okay.

So anyways. I had an awesome weekend pretty much. Met up with G an AL after work Saturday. Went to see "Earth". The movie was cheesy. The narration was awful. I mean when you are stating something like "and with every beat of its wing the bird is desperately trying to keep the cold away". Oh man. And then there was the whole thing about the circle of life when the cheetah killed a water buffalo but when it came to the father polar bear dying it was because of global warming. Right. My basic thoughts were you might as well just look at the National Geographic series because it was pretty much a consistency of twenty episodes of national geographic documentaries with just five minutes taken from each episode. They didn't even look at the earth but rather only a variety of about 20 different animals. Really the thing is great o show your kids for some interesting animal footage. The ducks that were falling out of the tree and bounced on the leaves made me laugh though. Overall it was just not much to watch.
After the movie we went over to AL's friend Da's apartment where we had a bit to drink before heading out. G and AL ditched us all in the market and the rest of us went and danced and had a good time. I really had a great time and it was great to reconnect with another old high school buddy, EG. (it looks like Friday may be the last time for a while if I go overseas as she is training  until September - too bad)

Only downside to the weekend? There is this feeling in the back of my mind I cannot shake. I hate the thought that I am leading someone on when I thought we were just friends. Ug. It looks like I'll have to have a chat with P before things get out of hand. That and someone else seemed to peak an interest on Saturday. I'm not too happy about this. I'm just not interested in dating anyone whatsoever. Nothing serious and nothing casual. I just want to be single and enjoy my life with myself and God.
