DAVID L. WOLPER (1928-2010)
Television producer, David L. Wolper, had passed away on August 10, 2010 of congestive heart disease and complications of Parkinson's disease, at his Beverly Hills home, at age 82.
Not only was Wolper behind the production of the "NORTH AND SOUTH" miniseries trilogy (1985-1994), he was also responsible for bringing to the screen successful productions such as "ROOTS" (1977), "ROOTS: THE NEXT GENERATION" (1979), "THE THORN BIRDS" (1983), "WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY" (1971), and "L.A. CONFIDENTIAL" (1997).
Wolper was also responsible for the opening and closing ceremonies for the 1984 Olympics. Here is an
