"NORTH AND SOUTH: Book I" - On the Set

I live in Southern California, which means I have visited the theme park/movie studios, Universal Studios Hollywood many times. But during my last tour of the studio's backlot, I came to an epiphany.

As everyone knows, most of "NORTH AND SOUTH: Book I" was filmed on location in South Carolina, Mississippi, Louisiana and Arkansas. It was also filmed on location in Newhall, California. However, I realized that the Mexico City sequences in Episode 2 had been filmed on the Universal Studios backlot - the section known as "Little Mexico".

If you check the photo below, you will see that this part of the Universal Studios backlot served as the street and building (left side, far back) where Orry was recuperating, after being wounded at the Battle of Churobusco:
