So, make fun of me if you will, but I really like Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black" album and I know it's heavily influenced by older groups but I don't know where to look for such stuff. Matt, help me out? Or anybody else... give me artists and if you can, specific albums that defined this style of music. Thanks! Preferably female artists... I'm going to start with Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday but I want more, or perhaps what works by them are best?
