So Darcy gets to watch as the inevitable unfolds. It’s like a total Greek tragedy. She likes to think she’s good at the internet game but she knows there's no stopping a meme once it gets started. The Darcy Lewis prompts start rolling in, and there's no way all of these are Loki. There's a section on the del.icio.us page dedicated to her, and the Darcy/Black Widow ship becomes the default for femslash prompts. Darcy Lewis is the default victim of the week when a fic needed a mission - Darcy's been kidnapped! Are you a bad enough dude to rescue Darcy?

Darcy tries to stem the tide, but there's not a thing she can do. And she knows she's beat when she sees people prompt just "Darcy". No one has to clarify "Darcy Lewis" anymore - when you prompt "Darcy", everyone knows who you meant. Darcy is clearly doomed, so there's only one thing to do - sit back and enjoy the ridiculous dirty stories people write about her.

It is kind of funny.

And two weeks into his revenge, Loki de-anons to mock her. There's a really long fill, Darcy/Black Widow shipping, where Darcy develops superpowers and becomes an Avenger. Darcy has it bookmarked because RPS!Darcy is pretty awesome, and the sex scenes are hot. (It doesn't matter that she can't look Natasha in the eye anymore - her job never called for much "looking Natasha in the eye" anyway.) She notices a familiar keyboard-smash username in the comments - someone is apparently totally enthusiastic about how much they love this fill. They want to marry it and have its babies. They think this fill is the best thing that happened to the written word since Twilight. The icon has been changed from Diabolical!Loki to a picture of Loki laughing with the caption I love you all! Now please die.

It's the kink meme, so if she didn't know it was Loki she'd think it was serious. But she does know, and when he starts threatening the author for quicker updates she drops him a private message, Stop being an asshole, you're spoiling it.

She wasn't expecting anything back, but Loki's response comes on the next refresh, but Darcy! If I can't be an asshole what can I be? You're trying to take away my identity.

I don't care, Darcy sends back. If you don't stop it, we'll never find out if Darcy can rescue her girlfriend from the evil clutches of that asshole Loki!

Egotist, sends Loki, and Darcy grins because it's totally true. She can own it.

And then... Loki stops. Just like that, he's done harassing the author, and she finishes the fill in peace. Loki's still there, still prompting and occasionally filling prompts. Still trolling so it looks like he's not a troll (it's masterful, really it is, and Darcy would be impressed if he wasn't a giant asshole). But he leaves Darcy's favourite WIPs alone. She thinks about messaging back thank you but realises that's a stupid idea.
