Round 4 is now closed.

Welcome to norsekink .

Keep up the awesome, folks.

Attention: Spoiler policy is now in place. For more information, go here.

NOTE: We've noticed that some of the prompts being posted have Thor characters only making cameos or not featured at all. We realize that Thor is closely involved in the Avengers, but we're requesting that any ( Read more... )

Then it happens. Darcy is reading the prompt post, snickering at the latest pregnant!Loki fills, when she sees a comment from Anonymous. A Darcy/Loki prompt.

As soon as she reads the names on the subject like she's aware of just how doomed she is. Loki's going to fill this shit, and laugh at her for the rest of her life. Unless she fills it first? No, he'd still laugh at her, and then she would die of embarrassment.

Loki/Darcy, she reads, Kinkmeme made them do it.

Wait, what? She opens the thread in a new tab to read the whole thing. The prompt is asking for a Darcy who is active on the kink meme (Darcy has a guilty shiver -- it was all cool before, but is she really allowed to still be doing this when she's canon? Except, yes, she totally is, and wouldn't care if she wasn't.) -- then one day she meets up with Loki who is totally into the meme as well. Then epic WTF and hot metatextual sex ensues.

There are a couple of replies, the kind you expect when someone prompts crack - anonymous, seconded like burning, another anonymous offering kingdoms in exchange for a fill, and one comment from someone who was logged in - Darcy usually likes their prompts, and their fills are mostly nice to her, but they '+1'-ed the prompt, and so Darcy has to plot revenge.

She stares. Hits 'reply', Loki? Did you prompt this? and submits before thinking that maybe that wasn't the thing to post in public. Ah, well, at least she was signed out when she posted it. Still anon.

There are a couple of replies already, the kind you expect when someone prompts crack - anonymous, seconded like burning, another anonymous offering kingdoms in exchange for a fill, and one comment from someone who was logged in - Darcy usually likes their prompts, and their fills are mostly nice to her, but they '+1'-ed the prompt, and so Darcy has to plot revenge.

The rest of the day is one long distraction. Why can't people realise that their problems are just taking away from her internet time? Jane scolds her for being a space case, and Darcy 'forgets' to bring her coffee.

When she gets back to that thread, there is an anonymous reply to her comment, No I didn't, Darcy! XD

Underneath that is a comment from logged-in Loki, posted in the last ten minutes. The anon above is just pretending to be me, but I didn't post it either - did you?

Darcy checks that she's still logged out, and checks again. Hell no, she types, that's why I asked! I couldn't even handle this level of meta, my head is spinning! She checks again that this isn't going to post with her name attached, and hits submit. In, like, the exact same second she realises she should have just sent a private message.

In five minutes, Loki has posted back, just as public as all the rest, Fine then. Just for you and your delicate sensibilities, Lewis... I'm filling the Hel out of this. And I will make you enjoy it.

And in the thirty minutes after that, the thread explodes with anon replies, all OH shit! and Wait, what? and one that just says, Well... this is awkward.

Darcy, giggling in horror, has to agree.

Bahahaha. This just gets more an more uncomfortable to read, but it is a pleasant sort of uncomfortable.

IS THAT ME IN THE FIC? IT IS ISN'T IT?

I'm not sure if I should feel flattered or scared.

IT'S TOTALLY YOU!

Don't worry - Darcy is terrible at non-coffee-based revenge. She usually forgets why she's angry.

I actually have at least one more level of meta planned for this, if I can squeeze it in there...

Oh man seriously love this fill. Just too freaking fun.

BTW, there's some copy/paste fail in this section:

It's in there twice and it threw me a bit!

Aagh, what have I done? Clearly I am a person who doesn't know the difference between ctrl+c and ctrl+x... Haha, I wrote this days ago, and can't remember where I actually decided to put that paragraph!

Thanks for the catch - I'll have to fix that if I post this on Ao3.

I really hope you do--it will make it easier to rec to folks! And believe me, I plan on reccing. It's entirely your fault I started an 8000-words-and-counting cracky Darcy & Loki friendship story that has eaten my life for the last week.

Omg, seriously? I need more Darcy/Loki in my life! have you already posted anywhere?

(Seriously, captcha, what are you doing to me? I don't even know what alphabet you're using!)

Nope! Still haven't finished writing it. I'm a DC girl, and having to learn marvel from the ground-up. Thank God for Wiki. I've also been marathonning the Avengersverse movies for the past month with my flatmate. The first 5000 words are close to done, but the 2nd half is taking ages and ages cos it went and grew a plot on me! I suspect I can blame everything on Doctor Who finishing this series and leaving me with empty Saturdays...

ETA: the whole mad thing will end up at taraljc when it's finished. And you're welcome to check out the madness (including rough snippets of dialogue which amuse me as I go) as I write.

Ooh, plot in your crack! I hate when that happens (except for how it is awesome)

I have had a quick stalk of your journal and now love you forever. I think you have nailed how Thor would use a toaster, by the way XD

Ooh, 2 broke girls! I saw the pilot to that once - someone pulled me off the street in Vegas to be in a survey (I wasn't sure whether they were really asking for my opinion or if it was just Vegas)! Max is a pretty awesome voice to permeate your Darcy... X)
