Hi everyone! avengersmascot here to let you know about some things that have been happening behind the scenes.
A lot of users are concerned with certain aspects of livejournal such as the fact that it is pretty much owned and operated by Russia and that certain rules regarding acceptable content may lead to this community to being deleted. As a result, I've been working to get norsekink backed up elsewhere. After some initial difficulties, the community was successfully imported to dreamwidth. There is now a mirror of norsekink over there. Some of you may have been here long enough to know that the original admin of norsekink did the same thing a number of years ago but the last import was done back in 2013 and as far as I can tell, no one but them ever had access to it which means none of the present mods do either, so I've had to start from scratch. The dreamwidth community can be found here if you want to take a look. However, I want to be clear-for now, dreamwidth will function only as a backup/archive, or alternative for anyone who'd simply prefer reading over there. We are not asking everyone to move to dreamwidth at this time. The idea was floated a while back and decided against at the time but it may be worth revisiting. If I've done everything right, there should be a poll at the bottom of this post regarding the idea. In the meantime, please continue posting your prompts and fills on livejournal. Periodic backups will be done from now on so nothing will be lost in the future.
Secondly, as I was working on the backup, I discovered that livejournal does in fact have a spam filter for comments. I'm not sure exactly how it identifies spam but as of today, it's turned on. Please let me know ASAP if it causes any issues with regards to posting or anything else.Please vote or share what's on your mind over on this discussion post
