Hey all...
Not much has been going on here the past few days, so I have an excuse for the lack of updates. Tuesday I took the commuter bus down to Boston to hang out with Joyce and had an awesome time. We explored the Arboretum a bit, ate lunch there, and then left since I'd had enough of the humidity. Thank goodness the T is airconditioned. We then rode up to Haymarket Square and followed the Freedom Trail to the Old North Church and did a bit of sightseeing :-). We wandered around the North End a bit, then continued along the red Freedom trail line to the Constitution, where I taught Joyce Polish for a half hour while we waited for the next tour of the ship to start. The tour was interesting, and we were allowed to see three different decks, though not surprisingly, we didn't get to see the hold. After that, we trooped over to North Station, rode the T to South station, then took the commuter bus back after a quick stop for milkshakes :-). Joyce spent the night, and we looked at pictures, ate dinner, and watched a movie. The next day, I dropped her off at the bus stop, then spent the rest of the day the way I spend most of my week- reading for fun, teaching myself Polish grammar, practicing, and conquering the world via Civ III. I've got slightly over 100 pages to go on the current book (City of Joy...highly recommend it), and I'm on the second Polish book at the moment. Flute's coming along well- I've almost gotten the technical issues ironed out on the Concertino I'll be performing this fall. Speaking of fall...
I'll be moving in Sunday August 27, and will need whatever help I can get to do so. How many of you UofRers are going to be around at 9am and available to help? If I can get two or three of you all, I think my parents are talking about providing free lunches. Forking_path's already drafted- anyone else interested?
