I have not told you anything about continuing our relationship for a long time. The only reason I may seem in the least bit duplicitous is that I was afraid to say what I really thought and tried to soften the blow. You may not out right lie to me, but I remember a few times when you were talking to me online and had a completely different conversation about me with someone else. And now you say you have looked at me with disapproval, suspicion, or distrust (def of askance on dictionary.com) when all I meant to point out was your duplicitous nature. I'm sorry if any of this seems harsh, but I have changed in such a way that you and the aptly named 'Siren' have helped so much. I am a lot more bitter about things that have happened in the past (partly due to ancestral ties I'm sure), but I have given you way too much power over me. I have been afraid to disappoint you, but now that I have pulled myself away from that world. . . I realized the only person I should be afraid to disappoint is myself. You've caused me a lot of psychological problems and now that I have the opportunity to split. I'm taking it. I hope the rest of your life truly does go better.
