Will stood at the wheel of the Flying Dutchman, and stared out at the colorless horizon between the worlds. "It doesn't seem fair."
"Is death ever fair?"
He turned to his first mate. James Norrington would know, as well as any man, how unfair death was. But Will wasn't in the mood for philosophizing. "It was a child."
"Would you rather leave it to wander?" Norrington asked.
"No, but ... "
"Everyone dies, Turner. Your task is to help them make the passage." He put one hand on Will's back. "It is a harsh duty, but more worthwhile than many."
