This series is so angsty and beautiful. My heart breaks for them. I hope to see you resolve James' worries about clipped wings, because it seems to me they're valid. Maybe they can learn to be free together?

She wore his jacket, and he carefully brushed the wet strands of hair from her face, while his brown hair slipped from his wig.

I love the imperfection and tenderness there. Also the memory of Elizabeth asking James to teach her how to swordfight. And this:

The stitches are so sharp and precise he finds it difficult to breathe.

...says so simply, without saying, what Elizabeth is sacrificing, and how much James regrets it.

Another sterling addition to this story. Again, I love the snapshot-style of it, and the tight-strung emotion, and their awkward attempts to learn each other; to find middle, common ground where they can coexist.

You, my dear, are amazing. I always wait the next of these with bated breath and have no idea what I will do when you end this series but will be so overjoyed because they are all so lovely. Another wonderful glance :)

This series continues to be wonderfully sad and delicate. Fantastic addition.
