Elizabeth continued to spend her evenings with James, though he clearly was not in need of constant medical attention anymore.  More often than not, they talked for hours until they fell asleep, and woke together as sun streamed through the portholes and Elizabeth realized once again that she had not departed for her quarters after he fell asleep.

Ooh, wonderful! Very subtly done. You made James' change of heart very realistic, especially with explaining his childhood. I especially liked:

But here he was…doing whatever she wanted simply for a smile. Again.

It is so indicative of James' knowledge in his weakness for her. And in the same regard, she knows she walks all over him.

I adore this! How many parts are there? Do you know?

I don't know how many parts there are! It's one of those things that could go on forever you know. I have an end point in mind though, I'd like to keep telling their story after that, but I think it'll be another time and another fic. I wish someone else would post something, I'm beginning to feel like I'm "hogging" the board. :)

Don't worry about "hogging" as you call it - that is nothing to worry about. Sometimes there is just a lull in activity for a while, but it usually picks up. Besides, we all love your fic, so don't deprive us ;)
