Yesterday I posted this article that said there was a language barrier when INKT was onstage. At first I thought it was funny that KOKI got tired of speaking English and just went back to Japanese, but after I saw the footage from the fancams above, he actually spoke English most of the time. I think he switched to Japanese because he had something really important that he wanted to say at that moment that he couldn't say in English. He got really emotional during the MC section in Japanese, a portion of which you can see in that last clip above. I swear it looks to me like his eyes were glistening with tears.

He actually made a really good effort to speak English besides that, then he went right back to English after that, so I'm not really sure what her beef is. Maybe she couldn't understand his accent XD or maybe cuz he sounded like a duck when he said "Singapore" ;DD

Despite the threat of dark clouds and rumbles of thunder throughout the afternoon, the Skechers Sundown Festival proceeded smoothly on Saturday (Nov 21) at the F1 Pit Building.
About 9,000 people attended the seven-hour event, one of the largest turnouts since the Sundown Festival was launched in 2009 to celebrate Asian music and provide a platform to showcase Asia's vibrant music scene.
The biggest name on stage this year was probably Korean hip-hop trio Epik High, who were the closing act.
But while they drew the biggest crowd of the night, their 50-minute set, which varied in sound from EDM (electronic dance music) to 1980s-era Beastie Boys-inspired numbers, seemed to be out of sync with all the previous acts.
Unlike the past few years, when organisers brought to the festival a range of cross-cultural music, from Bollywood to K-pop and indie acts, this year's line-up had a strong rock influence.
Arts administrator Niki Koh, 24, suggested that the organiser, Red Spade Entertainment, tighten the festival's line-up to become more genre-centric and attract a specific audience.
Even though the ticket prices dropped to $88 for general admission and $118 for mosh pit this year (from $118 and $138 last year), they might still be too expensive for a general crowd who are not familiar with the bands, he said.
Throughout the festival, people could be seen sitting on plastic chairs or on the ground, absorbed in their smartphones when they were not interested in the act on stage. For future editions, Ms Samantha Chan, co-founder of Red Spade Entertainment, said the company is looking at improving the engagement and interaction between artists and fans at the festival as well as collaborations between artists.
Last Saturday's event opened at 4.45pm with a performance by Singaporean singer-songwriter Cheryl Loon, one of four Singaporean acts on the line-up, including post-hardcore rock group Caracal.
The other groups hailed from South Korea, Thailand, Japan, Indonesia and Taiwan.
There were only nine acts this year, compared to 16 artists from 11 countries last year. Red Spade Entertainment co-founder Kelvin Goh said this gave artists more time on stage.
"Changing the format of the festival to include backstage coverage and increasing the duration of the performance per artist worked very well as it gave the audience time to appreciate and get into the mood of the different artists," he said, adding that he was happy with the festival turnout.
Japan's hard rock group Inkt brought screaming intensity to the stage, although the language barrier limited their ability to interact with the crowd.
Thailand's more melodic pop-rock band Potato did not have this problem as the lead singer routinely made shout-outs in English while the guitarist and bassist hammed it up to the enthusiastic crowd.
The group seemed to have the most fun on stage, returning waves and smiles with the spirited crowd, many of whom were fans who sang along to every song, especially rock ballad Tur Yang (Do You Still), and cheered when they heard new material.

The annual Skechers Sundown Festival wraps up its seventh year with more than 9000 music lovers rocking out together at Marina Promenade in Singapore. This year, the event starred five headliners, one guest artiste and three fringe acts from six countries.
The festival opened with local artistes, Cheryl Loon, FARRAGO, Cashew Chemists, Caracal and Ground Zero from Taiwan warming the crowd with slow and rich rock songs. Indonesian band J-Rocks paid tribute to victims of terrorism before they played their set. Fans of Japanese band INKT went wild as they hyped up the crowd with their eclectic performance including tonnes of head banging and excellent showmanship, and they ended off their set on a high note with their hit song ‘Saisarisu’. During their emotive performance of ‘Tur Young’, Thailand’s Potato got the crowd singing along in Thai, eliminating all language barriers.
Epik High was up next, and opened with the popular ‘Born Hater‘, and then continuing with ‘Fly‘ from their third album! After the band brought the house down with ‘Up‘, they took a short breather and slowed it down for the special English cover of BIG BANG Taeyang’s hit ‘Eyes, Nose, Lips‘.
DJ Tukutz did an impromptu break dance while performing their song ‘Love Love Love’, bringing the excitement level of the crowd to a whole new level. To show their gratitude for the fans, Epik High ended their run onstage with ‘Fan‘. Throughout their set, they showered their fans with water while they heated up the stage with a set of nine songs.
They then returned for one last song, ‘Don’t Hate Me’, after the hysterical fans screamed for an encore. Japan’s INKT also stood alongside ecstatic fans in front of the stage as they supported their fellow performers.
“Music unites people. It brings everyone together, no matter where we are from. It is about love and peace and making the world better,” says Samantha Chan, co-founder of Red Spade Entertainment. “Guns and war do nothing for mankind and it is about time we make a stand for ourselves, for people all over the world. This is what the Sundown Festival is about.”
Festival goers also got to enjoy local delicacies at the Asian Food Street, set up at the back of the festival. With a fun photo booth, foosball table as well as a roving mascot organized by Skechers, fans agree it was the best festival yet for Skechers Sundown Festival as they gathered in front of the iconic Singapore Flyer.

Skechers Sundown Festival held its press conference yesterday at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel with an overwhelmingly emotional introduction speech by Samantha Chan and Kelvin Goh, founders of the festival. The speech addresses the core reason, for music’s sake, calling for unification and peace in a world terrorised by fear. The speech below has not been altered. The press conference also saw the attendance of Cheryl Loon + Farrago, J-Rocks, Ground Zero, INKT and POTATO to share their thoughts and answer some of their fans’ questions.

INTRODUCTION SPEECH BY SAMANTHA CHAN AND KELVIN GOH, ORGANISER OF SKECHERS SUNDOWN FESTIVAL
Hello everyone, my name is Samantha and I am one of the co-founders and organisers of Skechers Sundown Festival.
I deliberated on standing up and confronting this matter because we are an entertainment company and we are not interested in politics in the slightest. We started Sundown Festival with two clear objectives; firstly, to unite Asia by celebrating cultural diversity with a common love for music and secondly, to transform local dreams into global footprints. And yet here I am, compelled to make a stand on behalf of the team.
A terrible event happened this day just last week and it hit closer to home than we would ever imagine. A concert in Paris, where tens of thousands of people like us, were there to enjoy, celebrate and come together freely to support talented artistes and music, was terrorised to inject fear.
This incident awakened the entire team that more than ever Skechers Sundown Festival’s mission to unite Asia goes beyond what seems now a naïve mission to just unite musicians and fans to address the convoluted music gap faced by our promoters, producers, artists, etc. We now have a greater purpose for Skechers Sundown Festival, not just in Singapore but to move our festival regionally, quickly to spread this unity to show them the unity of Asia that they cannot take our freedom or our music, because we love our diversity.
Ground Zero from Taiwan is scheduled to perform at the Skechers Sundown Festival later tonight at Marina Promenade close to the Singapore flyers.
It doesn’t matter what religion, race or language we speak, we unite as one because music is our language and we value the peace and love that music brings us. And not a deliberate pun, but we are able to put ourselves in each other’s shoes, because we understand this unity, we understand the diversity in culture, we will carry on dancing!
So tomorrow we will rock as one at Skechers Sundown Festival together with our talented artistes from Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Singapore and all our tens of thousands of fans and our artistes who will flood the social media spaces to demonstrate this freedom and unity. Asia is united and let no one take this from us. Let’s laugh and celebrate.

Returning From SG (Photo assortment

Hey, it's SASSY, who crashed for 10 hours after returning home!
↑ I had been reading Initiation Love the other day, so I watched to movie on the plane ^o^ It was really well done, so I enjoyed it ♪
↑ We ate ramen and sushi before taking off, but I also devoured the in-flight meal lol
↑ It was nice that Singapore is safe to walk around in at night. We all went out on a midnight prowl as soon as we arrived (the city was asleep tho lol
↑ I'm the type that doesn't drink before a show, so I had rootbeer instead (I love carbonated drinks that smell like icy-hot patches

歌手で俳優の田中聖がKOKIとしてフロントマンを務める5人組ロックバンド・INKTが21日（現地時間）、シンガポールで開催された音楽フェス『SKECHERS SUNDOWN FESTIVAL2015』に出演した。INKTにとっては7月のブラジルでのフェス参加に続き、2回目の海外公演となった。
アジア各国の勢いのあるアーティストが集結するなか、招待されたINKTは約4000人のオーディエンスを前に、「Trigger」「サイサリス」など代表曲を次々に披露。会場となったF1シンガポールグランプリも開催されるサーキットは、大歓声に包まれた。途中のMCではKOKIが英語であいさつし、主催者やシンガポールの観客へ感謝の気持ちを伝えた。
4月のORICON STYLEでのインタビューでKOKIが「いずれは海外で挑戦したい」と話したとおり、順調に海外公演の経験を重ねるINKT。来月からはバンド2度目のライブハウスツアー『Re：birth of INKT TOUR 2015-2016』の開催も決定している。
Tanaka KOKI and his band INKT Play for a Wildy Enthusiastic Audience of 4,000
The 5-member rock band, INKT, fronted by singer and actor Tanaka Koki, KOKI, appeared at the SKECHERS SUNDOWN MUSIC FESTIVAL 2015 in Singapore on the 21st, local time. This was INKT's second overseas performance, following their appearance in another festival in Brazil in July.
A festival that gathers artists from various asian countries, INKT was invited and sang a succession of representative songs including "Trigger" and "Physalis." Held at the same venue as the F1 Singapore Grand Prix, they were met with loud cheers. During the MC portion, KOKI introduced the band and expressed gratitude to the event promoters and guests in English.
In his April interview with Oricon Style, he told us that he definitely wanted to try playing abroad, and they are steadily racking up experience performing overseas. Their second live house tour, 『Re：birth of INKT TOUR 2015-2016』has also been scheduled to begin next month.
