So instead of doing anything remotely job-related at work this morning, I wrote 2,300 words of Greek!fic. From the POV of the interloper in the show's hot ship. I don't even know, you guys.

Beaver! I am completely in love with him (he can read! Of course he can!)! All of the Kappa Taus, really. I think I did skip?=100 on greekfans yesterday to find icons. This one's by misstarlight, and I think she also made the one I'm using here.
Hee! You read it already? I was mostly going stream of consciousness just to get the plot bunny out of my head, so I don't think I nailed either character right. But yes! That's typical of why the show works so well. I don't know if it's a proper quad unless Evan expresses some sort of active interest in Rebecca, is it? But it makes sense for her as a character to become more human via Cappie, and I'll take organic character growth over ships, lol. Except for how I kind of need Cappie and Casey to get back together so they can give Rusty a perfect little Greek family. I kinda might also think that humanizing her will set up Rebecca and Rusty having a thing. I mean, his big sister's mortal enemy and the ex of his Kappa big brother? It'd be classic soap and you know it.

I love Beaver! Seriously, when minor, drunk, frat guys make me that happy as characters, you know something is seriously right.
LOL, I didn't even realize you sent it to me (disregard that part of my e-mail btw), I meant your comment about writing fic from the POV of the character getting in the way of the show's hot ship. Cause the show sells Evan/Casey as a power couple (and really showed why they were together by the end of the season), and then gives you this utterly compelling build to what has to be an eventual Casey/Cappie reunion. But OMG your fic! Flove! I totally forgot that Rebecca delivers the note from Cappie. I have no money but want the DVDs. I wonder if I can find a torrent of the first season... Rebecca and Rusty? Really? Oh, totally I agree it would be classic soap, but she'd eat him alive, lol. You know, my one thing about the first season that I didn't like? The way he summarily dismissed Jen K. from his life. I liked her.

Heh, oops. You got it twice, sorry. Oh, totally! That's the best part about the triangle, because you honestly understand why Casey would want to be with both guys. Evan completely won me over, and last night exemplifies why this show is awesome: he's an ass to Rusty and Cappie (and Casey, although he thinks she betrayed him, so I'm chalking that up to hurt), but he genuinely likes and protects Calvin and stands up for his principles before the frat's politics.
Hee! That's what humanizing her is for! Rusty's growth is bound to include a few missteps here and there, although yes, currently, she'd eat him up and spit out his spindly little bones. The dismissal of Jen K. sucked, yes, but also made sense for him. He still sees things in black and white, and hasn't learned yet that you can still love someone even after they make a colossal mistake.
Yay, you liked the fic! It's so cracky though, and something tells me there isn't a huge audience yet for sympathetic Rebecca fic. Like I said, I binged in a few days' time, so little things are still with me.
Well, someone made screencaps of the whole first season, so we could always ask sugarpromises to make some for her next batch of icons...

No worries! I'll actually read all of your e-mails next time, lol. I do need Evan to stop being such an ass to Casey soon, though, if I'm going to continue to OT3 ship. I mean, I get that he feels betrayed. But anything she ever did to him she did in private (minus the sleeping with Cappie thing) and he keeps publicly humiliating her, and all the woobie face in the world isn't going to make me forget it. But yes, I love how he went to bat for Calvin to show what an ass he is capable of NOT being, and well, I'm shallow. The actor, whose name I've forgotten? Totally rocks the preppy vibe. He is SO cute like that.
Oh no, I agree it made sense. I just liked her and I loved their song, though Casey pitching it out the window made me laugh. I kind of hope she comes back again once Rusty grows up a little and stops seeing things that way. She was an interesting character.
I'm so not above begging her either. I'm currently adding icons slowly and I can't pick which one I want as my new default. I need to add slowly so I have room for new, happy crack like Greek!

Hee! Yes, because it's the same problem I have on, ahem, other shows. Evan can't express remorse in private to someone who is not the object of his bad actions and make me be okay with it. To be fair, I'm willing to bet that he pulls his head out of his ass once Casey starts trying to date other guys, so it shouldn't be too much longer. And given this show's track record for not sucking, we might even get a believable Evan/Casey reunion. Ooh, yes, the boy looks good in sweater vests and ties.
That was a total sibling moment too in the car, so bonus! Yes, she was interesting, and I definitely liked her independent of Rusty (the séance thing to help Casey shut Rebecca up? Golden). Here's hoping that the excellent character growth continues.
I swear, I'm about two minutes away from finally caving and getting a paid account. There are so many icons I want to be able to use!

Oh, yeah. I'm anticipating him coming to his senses soon, cause did you see the season teaser? That has him tearfully admitting he wants Casey back? I'm not looking forward to next week's Cappie/Casey scene about dating though. My little heart is going to get stepped on some, I imagine. Though, I like her being jealous of him and Rebecca. The show is on the other foot and for the triangle to continue that's necessary. I just need the pain minimized on all fronts, lol. I'm a wuss.
Yes! Such a sibling thing. My sister and I never agree on road trip music and we like the same type of music, lol. I kind of want a Cartwright kids icon too, but OMG limited space. There is never enough room!

I have not seen that!!! OMG, youtube me now, please! It's going to be hella awkward, yeah, but I'm willing to give this show some room to embrace the awkward because so much else works. Hee, you are such a wuss! But yeah, it's necessary, because what do you want to bet Cappie and Rebecca break up just as Casey and Evan are getting back together?
