My Name Is Me | Supporting your freedom to choose the name you use on social networks and other online services.

I believe in choosing your name on the internet.

I first chose kaplaghfinewhatever over on the old Wil Wheaton's soapbox, because I thought I had to have something Star Trekky, and I was really into the X Files and Scully at the time!
It got shortened to KPFW.

Then of course, I just sort of redid it to qplagh, to shorten it. That is by the way, a name of a male gamer somewhere, and I think a few other folks. I sort of left that, but in a way, I still identify myself as qplagh. Except I have never dressed as a Klingon...however, the Klingons are a great made up culture which has grown to become practically a real subculture of their own within and without fandom!!
So, qplagh!!

My current nickname is sort of ennetee, I guess, a play on entity, and my LJ /DW/ "persona" , Normaltrouble.
That is a play on the Bruce Cockburn song, "The Trouble With Normal"...and yes, there are a couple of others that thought of that, too!

I am also coffeedrinkingperson or coffeedrinkingwoman. This is sort of modeled after the Cigarette Smoking Man in the X Files...usually used when I want to be really anonymous, as opposed to pseudoanonymous.
Heh.

Trvial note, I read at the Cockburn Project, mannnny moons ago, that Bruce Cockburn really liked the X Files and he though David Duchovny should play him in a biopic.

That's it.

bruce cockburn, wil wheaton, fandom, star trek, x files, klingons
