I will do my 11 in 11 Women of Stargate 1st entry "sometime soon", but honestly, as I think about it, I think the three most influential characters will end up Being Sam Carter, Teyla Emmegen and yes, TJ Johannsen.
Gotta wait and be more awake to figure it out...although honestly---I even kinda like some of the bad and evil women characters ;)
So it's hard to choose what the second tier of favorite characters are that I like.
Spoiler Warning for every single SG1 story ever:
However, one thing, so far, Weir is wayyyyyyy underused in s2 of SGA, so far. It's sort of like she is a good example of the opposite of what they are very good at, in the whole SGverse thing--making everybody an integral part of the team...
Daniel comes up to some weirdo door, finds an odd Go'auld reference, looks to Teal'c, Teal'c remembers a reference and reads a few words that completes the puzzle for Daniel, Sam figures out what angle the sun and the moon have to be in order to complete the riddle.
Vala steals something, letting the sunlight through from where the artifact was, the door opens, Cam goes through first, Jack (although this is combining 2-3 different incarnations of SG1) convinces Daniel he needs to either "stop looking at the opposite wall and follow the team...let's go now..." as the ruin starts crashing into the sea...
Even Cam is running away towards the Stargate, Carter keeps looking longingly at what might be behind the door, Sam grabs "Danny" and they all run through the gate, Teal'c at the very last, while the whole huge gate falls into the ocean...
Everybody saves everybody, and Vala ends up with some priceless artifact, Jack complains about his knees, Teal'c adds a comment about the Jaffa Nation, Daniel takes the artifact from Vala, Sam starts babbling about the science and the puzzle, with Daniel and Teal'c, Teal'c adds a wise note about the Go'auld System Lord whose temple just crashed in around them, and Cam says enthusiatically: "Now, that's what I am talking about!"
Weir doesn't seem to have quite that connection to her team...at least not in this half of the season 2.
And now that made me all sad for Weir.
My favorite "minor" women characters are Lt Jennifer Hailey ( 2nd most likely to have turned into a slayer after Willow's spell...) and Cassie ( the most likely to have been a slayer...)
And I was thinking---watching Teyla, in SGA, I think she and Sam might make good friends. I haven't seen s4, so I don't know how they interacted... yet anyway.
Must meet pillow and the night and sleep and all that.
...extra special note: I have been so influenced by the MacSheppers that even I, male slash subtext blind (except with Krycheck/Mulder and Angel/Spike) am seeing some MacSheppish moments here and there! MacShep...the ship that took over the world, I guess;)
