Fannishness, I say just fannishness

I actually saw ST11 again-with a friend, who was very glad she impulsively came along, and saw it in the big screen.

I can only remember seeing very few movies "over again"...I think the last Star Wars (the first series, not the prequel), Empire of the Sun (Bale was very young, very precocious, and very able to hold his own against the marvelous the only Malkovich; now he's gorgeously sexy and one of the best actors around), and Lost In Translation. An odd bunch, yes. Oh and I may have seen 12 Monkeys in the theatre again, too...however, I've watched that so many times, and never have completely agreed about what's what, that I am none too sure.

Now ST11.
I saw some things I missed, there is some layering, but nothing as complex as 12 Monkeys, but hello...what is as weird as that movie unless you're talkin' Lost...

I think I like movies about time because...it's so mutable, but really out of anyone's control.

My verdict is that Zoe Saldana steals the show.
I won't say anything spoilerish, but what--she's got 28 minutes of screen time or something but her character has made a huge huge impact. I hope Saldana plays Uhura again. And quite frankly, again times 3-4. Her presence is memorable, dignified, understated and I sincerely hope they make her a little more involved next time.

movies, star trek
