I left the others in the lobby of the hotel, spouting their theories around. There were better sources to tap, and I was about to call one of them. Not that thought Giles would know better, but it was good to have someone to talk to and exchange idea's with. Hell, for all we knew this was only happening in Los Angeles. But something told me it wasn't. And if that was the case, then Giles would know by now.

As I shut the door of the office, I concentrated on the magic inside of me. I didn't use it much, but it used to be there. Like an old friend, always at my side. And just as with old friends, I'd gotten so used to it, I'd not even noticed it was gone. It wasn't as though one always walked around being aware of the magic inside of one. Though, I suppose one actually should. Or rather, I should. It was dangerous not to be aware of it. Could strike out on it's own and you'd notice it when it was to late.

Sinking down in the chair behind my desk, I stared at the phone for quite a while. I could hear the others talking in the lobby. Angel was still very confused, and perhaps even a little afraid. I couldn't really blame him there. It must be quite an adjustment to become human after being dead for over two hundred years. He'll have a lot to get used to. Normal every day things. Such as eating, and going to the loo and sounds and smells being different. Taste coming back.

Well, no time to ponder about that now. He'll have all of us to help him out if needed. Though, it did make me wonder again about other vampires. Or Demons. Good lord, what about Lorne? What happened to him? did he disappear as well, or did he become human? I hope the latter but I'm afraid to find out. Not all demons were bad, and they were being punished by this... whatever was going on.

I sighed and pulled open my drawer. No longer able to postpone the phone call any longer. I flipped through the pages of the small address book until I found Giles' number. A deep breath wasn't enough and I wound up taking several ones before I picked up the receiver. Quickly dialing the number, before I changed my mind, I waited for Giles to pick up. And then tensed when he finally did. Amazing how I didn't want to bollix things up when it came to him. I was still working hard to wipe out the first impression I made there in Sunnydale.

"Errr...Mister Giles. Hello. I-I was wondering if you had a moment? There...uhm.. there are some strange things going on. I don't suppose you've noticed?"
