Clean teeth

Jun 16, 2008 17:38

Had a dentist appointment at 3:30 today. Last summer I almost jumped out of my chair with pain when the hygienist poked a particular tooth so I was not looking forward to this appt. My mom and I switched times so I had my cleaning today and hers will be Thursday (rather than the other way around...because I'll be working Thursday). The hygienist I had this time was very nice and had a lighter touch than the one last time. I didn't need x-rays (yay for saving money) and I had no problems. *knock on wood* But I do need to floss more. :)

The day got progressively grayer and it's now thunderstorming. Somewhat matches my mood. I miss Montreal and Eric and everyone from McGill. It's tough adapting to living at home again.

My paternal grandfather has been in Shock Trauma/the ICU for about 5 days now. He fell last week and had uncontrollable bleeding (due to a drinking problem and blood thinner medication) and isn't doing great. I haven't heard an update yet today but the doctors are saying that either he'll begin to rally or this may be it. Poor Grampa...he just hasn't been the same since Nana died in the spring of 05. At least my dad and I had a good visit with him (while he was awake and coherent) last Friday night ; I feel good about that.

My family leaves for the northern part of Italy on June 25. We'll be back July 7. It should be a beautiful vacation. My parents really need a break so I hope that it's everything that they expect/want. (Truthfully I thought that we wouldn't have anymore family vacations with the four of us since Valerie and I are getting older. My parents are so generous to want to take us girls and we're lucky that they have earned enough flight miles over the years to put toward four tickets.) Anyone who would like a postcard, please let me know. *If your address isn't posted on facebook, please send me a facebook message including your address.

Love to all.
