Well, I'm switching to the dvorak keyboard layout. I'm learning it because it's more efficient and ergonomic, it's scientifically designed and I believe in scientific principals, and this will help me force myself to become a touch-typist cause I don't have the keys to look at. I could buy a new keyboard or switch the keys around, but I'd rather just memorize it anyway.
The downside is that while the dvorak layout is generally a lot faster than qwerty, it does take some time to re-train yourself (but even then, it's faster to learn than qwerty). So I'll be typing pretty slow for the next couple weeks...and after that, i'll be typing faster and faster. Check it out.
