Figure photo session time. This is GSC's rerelease of our favourite tsundere in Fate/stay night, but this time given a mahou-shoujo spin thanks to some random stuff happening in the game's sequel Fate/hollow ataraxia. No longer is she Rin Tohsaka she is now Kaleido-Ruby! Also wanted to add, this is a couple of first for me. First of, I've taken tips on lighting for cheap from Happy Soda's tutorial and second I'm trying out flickr for image hosting. So bear with it for this experimental first on everything. To be honest, I'm a real big fan of Type-Moon and their works. Having only heard about Tsukihime when this figure came out. While it looked cute, I didn't have any motivation to really hunt for it. Heck counting my figures, I have more Ikki Tousen figures than I ever need. Now compared that to the other person I know who has more Type-Moon figures I say it's a good balance of 2 evils. Anyway, after watching the anime that was release in the US by Geneon (RIP), I've come to appreciate Rin herself more than the other girls (Sakura comes second). Now colour me surprise as I hear that GSC was planning a rerelease of Mahou Shoujo Rin after 2 years of it's initial release. Didn't hesitate to snap it up and put it in my preorder list of figures.
Classic stuff with the pose of your typical mahou-shoujo girl. Can I say, if I'm corrupted by some evil power/demon/egg, I wouldn't mind Rin giving me a whack with the Kaleidostick.
Didn't quite turn out 100% on the lighting, but it's close to what I think is right. Used GIMP to correct some of the colour imbalance. Yeah, everything is done on a budget of $0.
This is probably my best shot out of the whole lot, but I don't know if I can replicate the same lighting again unless I use the lighting and shine it direct and use less of the reflector. Of course it kinda flattens the image.
And the obligatory panty shot. One thing to note, mahou-shoujo skirts are short therefore I don't really care for the ethics of it! Heheeheheheheeee.... Mmmm.... Rin.....
Next up is my just recent arrival, Alter's KOS-MOS ver.4 and maybe Dynamite Project's 1/5th Kanu Uncho. Alter's KOS-MOS ver.4 is just awesome but somehow I fear it might lean later on. Speaking of KOS-MOS, finish Xenosaga episode 3 last night, and the revelation at the end of who KOS-MOS is and her showing T-elos who's boss it was really awesome (even though I knew who she was anyway). The most touching bit about the game though is the Blue Testament's past and his connection with the Relians. Overall it's probably the best balance game of the entire Xenosaga series.
