What on earth are sailor scouts? Is this an American thing?
Anyhoo, just to clear up Malina's confusion - poor old Pluto is officially not a planet anymore, it's too small. You heard it here first, kiddies!

It's actually more of a Japanese thing. Sailor Moon is a japanese anime from the late 80s-early 90s, and it got some airing in the US in the mid 90s (prime time for kids our age to get hooked). Its about a female super hero whose origins are from an ancient civilization on the moon. She's called Sailor Moon and her partners in fighting crime are called the Sailr Scouts (senshi, in japanese). Each scout is the representative of a planet. Originally in the series there were four sailor scouts (Merucry, Mars, Venus and Jupiter), but later they added the outer scouts, (Uranus, Neptune, Saturn and Pluto) who would only appear sometimes and had powers that were a little different. Pluto was the most awesome one and its sad that she doesn't actually have a planet anymore. :(

dude most awesome conversation ever. we should reclaim pluto's right to be a planet. You can't just take away planet status.
