This stemmed from my comment in this sacramento thread, but I decided to post it here since
1. I don't recall if I ever posted about it,
2. it made a big impact on me,
3. we don't often see stories that restore our faith in humanity.

Feel free to contribute.

One time in early 2003, I was driving on 50 to a job interview in Rancho Cordova, off Zinfandel. Just before the Mather exit, my heater core blows (thank you, VW) and I'm forced to pull over to the side of the freeway. My car was filled with steam, so I got out and lifted the hood. Queue more steam. I start freaking out because I need to be at my interview in less than 10 minutes. Some angel of a woman pulls over and sees that I'm harmless and reluctantly offers me a ride to my interview, hoping that I'm not some SWF psycho. I ended up getting the job, and I'm actually typing this very comment from that location. That seemingly small gesture has positively affected my life ever since.
