It's funny how I am none of those. Seems to me as though you trust only the words you hear from others.

"What was I thinking?" Scarlette muttered to herself as she walked out of the Ravenclaw common room and headed down toward the Great Hall. "I hope I don't regret trying to be nice."

She sincerely hoped that this wouldn't backfire in her face.

Mummbling some in audiable words, most probably curses under her breathe as she walked up the stairs to the Great Hall. All the while trying to figure out what it was with the Ravenclaws and acting all nice to her. Personally, Noreen thought it to be a trap and was going to keep her guard up.

Arriving at the top of the stairs in the Entrance Hall, Noreen took a seat on one of the steps and waited for Scarlette.

Just as Noreen sat down, Scarlette rounded the corner and spotted her. Her lips curved up into a friendly smile as she tucked her hands into the pockets of her pants and neared the other girl.

"Hey, how're you doing?" she asked politely once she was only a couple of feet away.

Rolling her eyes, she knew this was just the beginning of it all. Pushing herself off the ground Noreen stood up and turned towards the Ravenclaw.

"Oh, fine. And you?"

Politeness kills her.

"Just fine, too." She could see already that this wasn't going to go over too well. The Slytherin girl wasn't going to warm up to her, this Scarlette was sure of.

"Did you want to walk around outside? It's a nice night out."

Feeling a sarcastic comment coming on, Noreen bit her tongue and smiled until the urge subsided.

"That sounds nice."

The tension in the air was very evident and it wasn't the most comfortable feelign in the world.

"As much as I look forward to a nice stroll around the grounds, you really don't have to endear me if you don't want. I only offered to join you in an offer of politeness," Scarlette blurted out in one breath.

"It's fine. I was just hoping someone else would take me on my offer." Realizing how rude she must have sounded, she corrected her statement. Though that was the basic truth. "Someone who I. Well, er, just a particular someone."

"Oh. Well I firstly apologize for not being this person. And I also apologize if I stepped on any toes," Scarlette countered sincerely.

"You still want to walk?"

"It's alright. It is not a big deal. I suppose I will see him when I return to the common room." Noreen shruged her shoulder and gave a weak smile. "Why not. I am basically outside already."
