The few days following Las Vegas didn't really involve doing much, except getting over a cold I picked up. On Wednesday, though, I went to MAGIC MOUNTAIN!! The best theme park ever - it's basically all rollercoasters.
Many years ago, when I was 5, my family and I visited LA for the first time and we visited a few theme parks but in my memory they all became Disneyland. SomeWhen we came back a few years ago we went back to Disneyland, and I realised that something was missing - the rollercoasters. When I was 5 I recall standing in front of an amazing rollercoaster, but being too afraid to go on it. When I returned a few years ago I was determined to go on the rollercoasters! This time though, I made sure to find out which theme park actually HAD rollercoasters.
They were awesome!
We spent the whole day there and managed to go once on every single one, except the ones that were closed. Actually, there was one we didn't go on - the Superman. It just looked too scary! Kinda like the Fear Fall at Rainbow's End, but the difference being that you're actually facing downwards(!) when you drop. All the rest were fantastic though! I screamed so much I actually almost lost my voice. A couple of them actually had separately rotating seats that swiveled as you go round on the track. Another one actually had a seat that lifted up to a horizontal so you were going around headfirst. There were also churros (cinammon-sugar sticks), cartoon characters and carnival games with giant soft toys.
In other news, I've run through all my holiday money and then some, but it's all good because the things I'm buying are important and useful. On a slightly related note - makeup here is really cheap! I think I now have all the eyeshadow I am ever going to need in my life, literally. Although I am annoyed that I didn't check the date on some vouchers for this clothing store, and they expired a few days ago. I had $75 worth of credit! I was going to go tomorrow! Bugger :( I was really looking forward to picking up some great pants :(
Maybe if I ask nicely they'll honour it anyway...
Anyway, I'll be home in a couple of days so see you soon!
